Truth on ID Theft is written and maintained by an independent LegalShield Associate. I'm not employed by LegalShield, and this site isn't owned or operated by the company. It's a personal project built to give people a free, straightforward place to see real identity theft scams broken down in plain language.
Every case in the library is free to watch, with no signup wall. New cases are added weekly. The goal is simple: the more people who recognize a scam in progress, the fewer people it catches. That's worth doing regardless of whether someone ever becomes a LegalShield member.
Recognizing a scam is step one. What happens if something still gets through is a separate problem — monitoring, recovery, and restoration support. That's the part I point people to LegalShield for, through my official associate page. Any plan you purchase is a LegalShield product, sold and fulfilled by LegalShield and its provider network, not by this site.
